Goofy Lake

Even though it has a goofy name, this lake is one of the most popular for our guests.  In fact, the largest walleye caught at McCusker Lake Lodge was caught out of Goofy Lake (13 pounds if you must know).  Goofy Lake has great year round fishing for walleyes and northern pike. 

Goofy Lake can only be reached by a very short portage from McCusker Lake.  A boat and motor are in the lake, so you only have to take yourself and fishing gear.  How good is the fishing?  Goofy Lake is our most popular side lake because of the short portage and good fishing.  Large northerns abound on the cabbage weeds located around the lake.  Large northerns eat walleyes, so you can bet there are lots of those as well.  Goofy Lake is north of Trout Narrows off McCusker.  The map below shows the location of the lake relative to the camp.
