Walsten
Outposts are situated in
the heart of the Canadian wilderness.
We do provision hunting at some of our outposts in the fall but no
hunting is allowed at McCusker Lake Camp. Check out
the hunting link if you are interested in
hunting. There is plently of wildlife to be seen, including the

Bald Eagle
The bald eagle is a very common bird in the Walsten Outposts
area. As shown in the photo at the right, fish remains placed on
a reef near the camps feed these birds daily.
Everyone enjoys the sound of the loon'shaunting
call drifting across the lake on a warm summer evening. This
sound above all is the essence of the wilderness experience.
Wolves tend to be secretive so they are rarely seen during the
summer.
If you are lucky you may get to hear the sound of a wolf howling on a
